Santogold are helping Peaches and Miss Kittin carry the torch lit by Nina Hagen, Ann Magnuson and Karen Finley years ago. There's not just avant garde performance art here, there's good music to back it up. Am I the only person who thinks the vocalist looks like Venus Williams?

The Spectacular Art of Patrick Gannon.
One of the first blogs I discovered shortly after I started blogging back in late August was Patrick Gannon's Paper Cuts. Patrick Gannon is an amazing artists who blogs about his work and projects and things going on in the North American art community that he or his friends are associated with. Usually his paintings are dark, moody and atmospheric. This one is different, it's whimsical. It's still left-of-center and atmospheric, but it's a brighter different Patrick Gannon. He has a great talent and his versatility is quite evident. See his site and see what works for you.

Pierre et Gilles "Mercure".
Should I ever find myself in Paris, the one thing I will do just after I see the Eiffel Tower and right before hitting one of those legendary Parisian nightclubs is stop by the Galerie Jerome de Noirmont at 36-38 Avenue Matignon to seePierre et Gilles work on display, up close and personal. The artistic couple met at a Kenzo boutique opening and began collaborating artistically early in their relationship. Pierre shoots the work and Gilles paints over it. The results are striking and surreal. They have done some impressive work with Madonna, 80s punk Goddess, Nina Hagen and ad campaigns for designer Jean Paul Gaultier, to name but a few of their great accomplishments.
